This page explains what personal data Gardening Services Dundalk collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We've tried to keep it in plain English.
Who we are
Gardening Services Dundalk is a gardening and landscaping business run by Seamus & Pete, serving Dundalk and County Louth, Ireland. For data protection purposes, we are the "data controller" for the personal data described on this page - meaning we decide why and how it's used.
If you have a question about your data, or want to exercise any of the rights listed below, you can contact us:
- Phone: 085 168 5170
- Email: privacy@gardeningservicesdundalk.com
What personal data we collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to give us, or - if you agree to cookies - through analytics on this website.
Contact and quote forms. When you request a quote or send us a message, we collect your name, email address, phone number, address or Eircode, and the details of your enquiry.
Reviews. If you submit a review of our work through this site, we collect your name, optional area and service, star rating, review title and review text. Please leave private contact details out of your review.
Website chat. If you choose to start a chat and agree to its storage, ProBizMate stores your messages so our AI assistant can answer questions using approved business information and our team can follow up. You can ask for a person at any time. If you choose to leave job details, we also store the contact details and description you submit. Quotes, prices and bookings require confirmation from our team. Please avoid sharing sensitive information in chat.
Analytics cookies. If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website - for example, which pages are viewed, and general location and device information. This only happens if you consent; see "Cookies and analytics" below.
Why we use your data
Enquiries and quotes. We process the details you submit through our contact or quote form so we can reply to you and take the steps you've asked for before entering into a contract with you - for example, preparing a quote. If you go ahead with the work, we continue to use this data to deliver and manage that service. Where this isn't strictly a pre-contract step, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries from potential customers.
Reviews. Seamus checks submitted reviews in ProBizMate before publication. Your name, area, rating, title and review text may appear on the website after approval. All star ratings are welcome; the check is for genuine customer feedback, spam, abuse and private information.
Form security. Cloudflare Turnstile checks review submissions to reduce automated spam. We also use a temporary coded version of your network address to limit repeated attempts. These limit records expire after 24 hours.
Analytics. We only use Google Analytics cookies with your consent. You're free to decline, and you can change your mind at any time - see below.
Cookies and analytics
With analytics consent, we count clicks on phone and WhatsApp links and new quote forms accepted by our website. These events include the page path, form name and delivery status. We do not send your name, phone number, email, Eircode or enquiry text in these events. A recorded enquiry does not establish that a job was booked.
This site shows a cookie-consent banner the first time you visit. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are only set if you click "Accept" - nothing is tracked before then. If you click "Decline", no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's cookies/site data for this domain, which will bring the banner back.
This site also loads fonts directly from Google Fonts so that text displays correctly. Loading a font involves your browser contacting Google's servers, which may share your IP address with Google. This happens regardless of your cookie choice, as it's needed to display the page correctly.
Who we share your data with
We don't sell your personal data. We only share it with the following, and only as needed to run this website and our business:
- Google Analytics - website usage data, only if you consent to analytics cookies.
- Google Fonts - used to display the typefaces on this site.
- Cloudflare - our website hosting provider, which processes traffic data to deliver this site securely.
- JobDiary - processes enquiries so the business can respond and manage quotes.
- ProBizMate - processes submitted reviews for Gardening Services Dundalk, including private moderation, notifications to Seamus and publication of approved reviews.
- ProBizMate and Anthropic - ProBizMate manages website chats and owner replies using Cloudflare hosting. Anthropic's AI receives a short recent message history to select an approved answer. Email and phone number patterns are removed before that AI request, but other personal details in your message may still be included. Contact form fields are stored for our team and are not included in that AI request.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry and quote details only for as long as we need them to respond to you, prepare your quote, and - if you go ahead - carry out the agreed work, plus a short period afterwards in case of follow-up questions. We don't keep this data indefinitely.
Reviews you submit are kept for as long as they remain published on our site, or until you ask us to remove them.
Website chat messages and contact details in the chat are removed after 30 days without activity, by a daily cleanup. Your browser keeps a temporary chat token in session storage to let you return to the same conversation in that tab. If your enquiry becomes a separate quote or job, those business records follow the enquiry and quote retention described above.
The website keeps a delivery copy until the review reaches ProBizMate. That copy is cleared within 30 days after successful delivery; a technical receipt remains to prevent duplicates.
Analytics data, only ever collected with your consent, is retained according to Google Analytics' own data retention settings.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (access)
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification)
- Ask us to delete your data (erasure)
- Object to how we use your data
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the top of this page. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool on the site. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date above.
